Dr Kevin Tyler. Simon Rivers. Cherry Clay. Sophie Abelson. Julia Parsons. Diane Keen. Marina Bonnaire. Marian McLoughlin. Mandy Marquez. Danielle Henry. Andrea Gladwell.
Liz Kettle. Sign In. Two Doctors regulars will be left fighting for their lives in one of the soap's biggest cliffhangers of the year so far. It's been a lovely dynamic to play. Their instincts are so different. When challenged, Freya would stand and fight. Lois runs and hides. Freya wore her heart on her sleeve, but there's a secrecy to Lois. An edge. I know who I'd rather take out for a pint. Are things likely to get heated with Mandy?
And how is it working with Danielle again? I don't want to give the game away, but Lois' arrival turns Mandy's life upside down. The impact they have on each other is extreme and everything happens very quickly. A curiosity about Freya draws Lois to Letherbridge, but it's Mandy who keeps her there.
That's all I'll say for now. As for Danielle? Working with her always feels like coming home. It's comfortable, it's safe and its fun. In real life we're very close and I think that relationship comes through on screen. Danni has a beautiful truth when she's performing and I feel very lucky to have been partnered with her on this show.
She makes me up my game because she pushes and challenges, as well as supports. I know we'll work together again. She has no choice in the matter! The obvious change is that there are a lot of new faces - characters who have come in since I left, so people I never got to work with when I was playing Freya.
But the feel of the place is the same and it's been lovely getting to know the new arrivals. Warm, welcoming and manic. Everything and everyone operates at warp speed and you have to jump in with both feet and hold on tight. It's one of the things I love about the show.
Every day is a rollercoaster. The most obvious difference is that you have lost a lot of weight since we last saw you. What was your motivation for doing it?
It's comfortable, it's safe and it's fun. We're incredibly close friends in real life and I hope that comes across on screen. When you're performing with her - whoever you are - you're a prat if you don't feel lucky to be standing next to her.
I know that we're going to work together again in the future, too. If I have to write something and create it so that can happen, I will!
Which other cast members did you get to work with again during this return stint? That was a real treat. There is a massive climax to this story, which Matt directed and he was sensational. He got stuff out of me and Danni that I'm not sure another director would have done. We had to go to some deep, dark places and Matt was there every step of the way - pushing us but making us feel safe.
He was absolutely brilliant. But my main stuff was with Danni and Simon Rivers [Kevin]. It was great to work with Simon again. There's also some really important stuff with Owen Brenman who plays Heston. How are the fans reacting to your return? People are asking questions about what's going on, where the story is going next and how long I'm back for. In terms of a fanbase, they're just the most delightful people - I just hope they're not going to be disappointed when they find out more about what Lois is like!
You're currently appearing in a play called The One at the Soho Theatre. How's it all going?
