What do valor points get you in wow

In total, we have 12 possible upgrades starting at and going up to Ilvl. The graph above shows how much each slot costs per level to upgrade, this number doesn't change as the item increases in item level.

As mentioned above, we will have a weekly cap starting at 5, which will increase by each week. Meaning it will still take a long time to upgrade loot from to Valor Points are designed as a currency for upgrading gear. Not for purchasing base levels of gear. This is a minor change to how the system was in the past and also how it works in PVP currently.

All Rights Reserved. David Hollingsworth. There is even the Darkmoon prizes available for JP. Most of the gear is rated less than lvl 90 and some are tied to the account and grows with lvls lvls 1 say. The guild headquarters has some more. Comment by I do agree it is extremely easy to hit the weekly Valor cap; especially if you have two friends.

Run a three or four scenarios in an hour making good guild gold in the process. Run a couple of Dungeon Finders in an hour also making good guild gold in the process. That's two 4 hour sessions on a weekend, boom, maxed with no raiding and very little effort on anyone's part. Honestly, if you know your class you can do this alone minus the guild gold. I do not agree with people's statements that Valor Points quickly become useless.

It is literally impossible for VP to be useless in anytime less than 6 months AFTER you've ground out pieces of epic equipment 16 if you use shields. Every piece takes weeks to grind VP for.

Even if you get ii pieces of gear 16 if you need a shield from places other than VP vendors, it still needs to be up graded at VP for max iLevel. So the break down not needing a shield : 15 pieces of epic equipment. Getting VP will take days or 22 weeks plus a day minimum. That's about five and a half months minimum before VP become useless. For a single Spec, you can almost add a third of this for some classes. I think with these numbers, Valor Points will be useful for quite a while, probably closer to a year for the casual player or players who also buy epics from VP vendors.

I also feel the weekly cap should be closer to to make the numbers a bit more acceptable. Before it is even possible for someone to collect and max their equipment, a new release will add new VP ii equipment that you can only buy after grinding out rep so another months to get max level equipment. I am thankful for all of the new higher level equipment and I am sorry if this comes off as "whiny", but I do feel that the time frame to upgrade it is way off.

If anyone else agrees, I think it should be submitted as a suggestion, over and over within wow's suggestion box. I'm also curious to know if the developers actually did the math before deciding on this system. EDIT: This also applies in 5. Just with higher gear scores. Comment by NathanialJD Doing all the Thunder King dailies will get you cap for the week, tested and confirmed by yours truly.

Comment by mjt I noticed yesterday that I wasn't accumulating valor points. I wasn't near my daily or weekly cap. When I completed a quest that rewarded 5 valor points, they were not added to my toon.

Anyone else having issues? Comment by walkman You can now also buy item level items with this if you have farmed some reputation in the Throne of Thunder raid. Comment by Wuxian With 5. For alot less valor points than in 5. Very useful for people who are not fortunate enough to get PvE items in raids, just upgrade your old gear and you're good to go! Valor points will be useful again. Both stayed the same. Comment by Werich You can check this guide to see which dailies are the most effective to farm Valor Points.

As of patch 5. Comment by Silvansaria I've been monitoring my Valor points vs. Comment by 10drxtc Where do you trade valor for conquest? Comment by lecanard2 is there no valor to gold conversion? Comment by Belatherix So the weekly cap starts at and then scales down to or should that say ? Comment by MassEnergy I don't understand the "" weekly cap but "can only hold " before you have to spend it. Can you get , or ? Comment by Nigellone " Each piece of dungeon gear from Item Level to Item Level that is obtained from Mythic 0 will be given a Rank from 1 to This rank will be shown on the tooltip of the item.

If I drop a piece from a Mythic 15, can't I upgrade it? Comment by Pikabladez Is the valor system account wide? Like I already have Keystone Master, would I need to do it on every single one of my alts to upgrade to ilvl gear?

Comment by wingram Let me try a couple of examples to see if I understand this: 1. If I also manage to farm valor, then I will be able to upgrade that ring to ilvl or rank 7 regardless of whether or not I have one of the achievements. Upgrading an item that is Item Level Rank 6 or lower requires no achievement. And, even I get this achievement, I will only be able to upgrade the ring to ilvl This seems inconsistent and rather unfair.

So what's the point of farming valor? Comment by Outlier Hypothetical: Patch drops today and I somehow manage to obtain and spend exactly 5, valor points on upgrading gear. I have reached the cap. Next tuesday, the cap increases by Does that mean next week I only have points to spend, or does the entire pool reset so i'd be able to earn next week?
