I think the drummer is 6'4, but I didn't really think any of his other bandmates were that big. I remember seeing him with a full head of hair when he was in A Perfect Circle, I assumed it was a wig.
Mercury Banned. Reaction score 3. I love the music but I have always found Maynard as a person to be an ultra-serious-know-it-all type that probably wouldn't be much fun to be around. Could just be the bald head, tho. Swifty Lazar, a famous Hollywood "super agent". He was responsible for finding a lot of the beautiful celebrities that we stupidly compare ourselves to.
Swifty probably figured if you can't be good looking yourself you may as well make money off the good looks of others. ChrisWuk Experienced Member. Another good musical choice Slipy! Tool are one of my favourite bands! They were amazing when I saw them in Manchester back in Just wish a new album or A Perfect Circle album was incoming Primo Experienced Member. Love this band also, missed my only chance to see them play London in because it clashed with my scheduled flight to Japan on the same day, which sucked!
Hasn't Maynard Keenan been concentrating on releasing more material with Puscifier lately? I liked one of their albums, but obviously it's more electronic, experimental kind of stuff, a bit like a Tool version of Kid A.
Exodus Banned My Regimen. Reaction score 5, Haha funny u mention him I heard some of their songs before but im just getting into them based on a friends recommendation Theyre fukkin talented. You do things to survive: as an artist, parent or friend. You share without expecting anything back. Was that a tongue-in-cheek statement? Do you feel it provided you with a valuable insight to comment about the state of America?
What did your mother instil in you? She taught me the ability to listen: she was good at listening [his mother, Judith Marie, died in ]. My dad was a teacher, so he speaks more.
When you listened to comedy records when you were younger, did you consider that more rebellious than music? If you have any Irish-Italian blood in you, you definitely have a contrarian wiring. The whole foundation of the script for Curb Your Enthusiasm is about what Larry David is not supposed to say. It was a lot easier for me growing up because there were walls and doors between me and the goal. Before you became a musician, you were the guy who stood at the back of venues sniping at bands.
Did this introduce you to the idea of playing with different guises? When Billy Howerdel first played you the music that would become A Perfect Circle, why did it resonate with you?
There have to be some grandiose robes. Was your relationship one of mutual vicariousness: you envied his comedic abilities, and he, a frustrated musician, envied yours? I think the premonition part was probably a series of unconscious clues that I picked up from him or his manager that all came together in a dream. Which musician do you share the closest mental connection with? How would you describe your creative relationship with Billy?
He wants to keep going and I feel my role is to drag him out of the closet. The closet? You go between projects with a certain degree of impatience. How does that line up with the man who enjoys the unhurried ritual of drinking wine, and the painstaking process of making it? You have to understand what has to be done.
There are certain things you have to push, and certain things you have to get through — shovelling through the snow on the driveway so you can get to where you need to be. And then you go and enjoy a movie or relax with your friends. You used to work on the layouts for pet shops. Which is your creative process most like: making wine, or putting the big bags of dog food at the back of the shop so customers see the other products on the way to get them?
